About Jessica Rayne
The Story
Born and raised in Johannesburg, Jessica Rayne studied fashion design at the London International School of Fashion (LISOF) and later in the UK at Central Saint Martins. She spent 9 years working as a fashion designer with her own bespoke women’s wear label as well as a stylist and image consultant to various high profile clients. Currently residing in Plettenberg Bay, Jessica focuses her attention to her true passion – art.
The Journey
After leaving the city and moving to Plettenberg Bay, Jessica has taken her innate appreciation and love for detail, texture and colour and began to practice as a visceral artist. Decontextualizing and reconstructing, she creates works in a variety of mediums and techniques. Guided heavily by an intuitive process she predominantly creates abstract mixed media works as well as highly detailed and decorative collage pieces.
The Art
Jessica has found a way to express and make sense of the physical existence and what it means to be human through her art as she explores themes of spirituality, metaphysics and universal consciousness. Using art to shift the energy frequency in homes and spaces through colour therapy. She has exhibited locally throughout South Africa and looks forward to an expansive and evolving career as an artist and creative.
